The Spotted Goose & Their Top Products From Playtime New York 
For each edition of Playtime New York, we team up with a different buyer from our community to learn more about their boutique and discover the show through their eyes. This winter, we worked with Amy and Stephanie, the buyers behind The Spotted Goose in Ohio. With both a physical store in Cincinnati and an e-shop that caters to customers around the United States, Amy and Stephanie have expert eyes for what’s ‘in’ in kid’s fashion, accessories, and toys.
Join us as we interview Amy to learn more about The Spotted Goose, who their typical customer is, their top 10 products from the winter edition of Playtime New York, and more!
Amy and Stephanie from The Spotted Goose at Playtime New York, Winter 2026Hi I’m Amy, a wife, mother of three, and the owner of two retail stores! I have owned my first store, Soho Boutique, for almost 17 years. The Spotted Goose is my second store and is the same age as my son Evan, 11 years old. I love clothes, fashion and beautiful things! I also love curating and styling thoughtful and memorable gifts for little ones. Helping our clients celebrate their little ones’ childhood is something I am incredibly passionate about!
Stephanie is a wife, mother of two, and The Spotted Goose’s store manager for many years now! She is an expert merchandiser, stylist, and operations manager. Stephanie does everything and does it with grace. She leads our small but mighty team, The Goose Gals, and has had the pleasure of cultivating authentic, lovely relationships with our clients. We are often the first to know when one of our moms is newly expecting!
As for The Spotted Goose itself, it is a warm, thoughtful place for mothers, fathers, grandparents, and anyone looking for something special for the little ones they love! We have curated a collection of clothing, accessories, gifts, and toys for newborns up to 12 year olds. We also have an online store where we sell most of the same items we carry in store. The Spotted Goose is known for our well edited collections with pieces that both moms and kids love. Our custom gift baskets are something we must mention – they are on the top of the list for most moms to be!
Every item that comes into the store is hand chosen by a Goose Gal! We look, touch, and research all merchandise before making our selections. The editing we do is some of our most valuable work. Who has time to sift through everything?!
We do this work for our customers, and we take it very seriously. There are many late nights and early morning research sessions for our team! Balancing the product mix is something we are constantly refining. We listen to our clients and thoughtfully choose items and styles we believe in and have loved for our own children.
It is incredibly important for our families to feel comfortable and at home in the store. A common phrase we say to our clients is “make yourselves at home”! Whether that means leaving their bags at the checkout or spreading out options on the counter, we cater the experience to what they need. The experience in the store varies for everyone, but we do our best to show up for whatever our clients need that day. Sometimes we share stories and pictures. Other times we talk about challenges and life. Some days we get customers in and out, checking one thing off their list! They tell us what they need and we make it happen.
Something else we hear from our clients is that The Spotted Goose offers them a quiet place where they can take a moment for themselves and “fill up the tank” so to speak. We know moms need this (we certainly do!) and it makes us so happy we can offer this to them! We stand on the sidelines and facilitate during these moments.
Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles… you name them, we have served them! We have clients all over the country. We offer many kinds of concierge services for clients we work with on a recurring basis, and we do everything we can to provide the type and level of customer service that suits each of our clients best.
Some are looking for play clothes, some for coordinated looks for family photos, and others are looking for a full wardrobe for their baby on the way or their growing toddler. We always stock the best birthday gifts, whether it’s a first birthday or a themed party for your son or daughter’s best friend. Did we mention we LOVE a theme? Because we do!
Baby gifts and birthdays are top categories for us. We are styling and wrapping gifts in the store every day. Clients all over the country shop online and include gift messages with their package.
We also love holidays! Our holiday collections are some of our favorites to curate and share with all of our customers.
We love Playtime! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. We think a solid edit is very important, which is why we love that Playtime chooses the best of the best from brands around the world to show their buyers. Many of the brands have their founders attend as well. Hearing their stories and the “why” behind their lines is something we enjoy and take back to share with our clients. We also love having our daughters come to New York to help choose pieces for The Spotted Goose! This is one of the most special parts of our work.
We came looking for some new designers that feel fresh and have items we know our moms will love. We found several, and cannot wait to share all of them with you!
This is an original brand for The Spotted Goose! After a hiatus from selling to retailers they are back and better than ever. We are so thrilled to welcome back this beautiful woman owned brand – we missed you Go Gently Nation!
This piece we absolutely loved! We are proud to be American and proud to welcome Hope & Henry to The Spotted Goose. Fun fact: the brand was named after a rooster. My family and I have 3 roosters, so I connected with this brand immediately!
This is another new brand for us… we walked past their booth and the rest is history! Of course, we had to pick this amazing onesie with the goose on it. Welcome Wild Wawa!
Sweet Olive Street is one of our favorites! We started with the birthday tees a few years back and continue to grow our business with them. These sardines are simply perfection – personalized, sweet, and with a little personality. This line just keeps getting better and better!
We love a matching set, and we love Bebe Organic! Their blankets are also a Goose Gal all time favorite.
Igor has also been a favorite of ours for a while. We were looking for the perfect winter lined waterproof boot, and Igor delivered! We know our moms are going to love this as much as we do!
Tenly is a new brand for us. We are expanding our tween offering and this feels like the perfect fit! It has something for both moms and tweens to appreciate and love.
We saw a lot of western styles this season, but Me & Henry did it best! It’s like we stepped back into the 70’s in the very best way. This cardigan will be going in our kids’ closets for certain!
