Each season, the exceptional team of forecasters at Future Snoops identifies two of the top trends exclusively for Playtime. Then our scenographer, Amélie Lengrand brings these trends to life in two spaces through artful scenography and with the work of international artists. This season, you will be able to immerse yourself in the Fall/Winter 26-27 trends Allusion and Dusk at Playtime Paris and Playtime New York.

In Allusion, nostalgia gets a tactile update as cultural narratives are woven into future-oriented, conscious clothing. Reminding us of historical stories and the beauty of heirloom craftsmanship, the designs are equally ornate and practical. As for Dusk, we find ourselves in the balance between chaos and control, where apparel and accessories dare to be different. A reimagined version of the goth and punk subcultures, Dusk celebrates children’s resilience through clothing that blends edginess and imperfect details.

Let’s dive deeper into these Fall/Winter 26-27 trends with Future Snoops’ moodboards and products from brands you’ll find at the shows who perfectly embody the elements of Allusion and Dusk.

Allusion

“Reconnecting us with a tactile and meaningful existence, Allusion ushers in designs infused with historical references that have been reinterpreted for children using contemporary elements. Extending beyond simple nostalgia, this trend emphasizes the fusion of cultural narratives and forward-thinking sustainability, creating a present that is grounded in the wonders of the past and the possibilities of the future. Prints, patterns, and symbols revive old stories for a new generation, while intricate embellishments decorate designs that are ornate, yet practical. The colors are warm and familiar, and paired with textures that invoke the story of human evolution and celebrate the imperfections of craft processes.”

Dusk

“A reflection of the in-between moment before night overtakes day, the trend Dusk mirrors the delicate balance we seek in life between chaos and control, fear and hope, darkness and light. Its aesthetics confront darkness with a reinterpreted style celebrating the drama and mystery of the goth and punk subcultures, adding elements of hardware, distressed finishes, and intentionally imperfect details that underscore the natural resilience and rebelliousness of children. The colors are dark and moody, with offsets of reds, pinks, and purples that soften the harsh materials and create a harmony between toughness and tenderness. Daring to be different, Dusk’s apparel and accessories showcase authenticity, resilience, and an unapologetic exploration of emotions.”

Celebrate the beauty of imperfection…
